I was too young to know what was going on but I do remember my mother screaming that someone shot you down! She screamed, she cried and then became very angry!
I thought that maybe, an uncle or brother had died. As I got older I realized that you were so much more than the things people had written. You are and were like my ancestors. An omen that we must stand together as a people! We must spiritually fight for the coming together. WE must fight the wicked ways of man and that above all things, we must agree that we will not always agree but we can still love each other.
On this day of service & religious freedom, I salute you, Martin Luther King Jr for being brave enough to bring people together for a common cause.
